In a new book: Intervention: The Battle for Better Business, Forte confirms "the 25th November marks the end of a generation-long age of help and positive intervention for small business".
Forte said "the last of two thousand Business Advisers will be made redundant this Friday, and a national network of organisations that incurred ?2 billion of tax funding will be dismantled."
His findings expose the "improvement" promised by Government as an ideological sham and coup d'etat, rather than added benefits for small businesses.
Small businesses will now have to help themselves, as the Business Link advisory service is substituted for a ?100 million+ website and ?9 million call centre.
Forte said, "PERSONAL advice for small business ends on 25th November".
Former Deputy Prime Minister and founder of the Business Link initiative, Lord Heseltine,was challenged why the Government would scatter the network and millions of pounds of investment to the wind this Friday. His response:
"That's what Governments do".
